2020 is shaping up to be an exciting year - so to kick it off, I want to welcome a new face and (re)welcome and old one to our board.
Lord Stanley Fink spent seven years as the CEO of Man Group. He’s been described as the “Godfather of hedge funds”, he’s a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist and he’ll bring a wealth of experience to the board. He’s joining as the chair of our board and I’m excited to work alongside him.
At the same time, it’s great to be able to welcome Raman Bahtia back to the board, this time in an independent capacity. Raman has held a seat on our board since our Series A on behalf of one of our investors, HSBC. He has provided consistently sound guidance throughout that time and has recently moved on to a new role as the COO at Ovo Energy. I was sad to see him vacate the seat and am really pleased that he’s decided to re-join. It looks like there will be a fair amount of movement in Open Finance this year and having representation from someone in the energy sector in particular, will provide an invaluable perspective as we look to sectors beyond banking.
The appointments add both perspective and insight to the board and will undoubtedly leave us with a stronger core to our strategic decision making. They’re also a testament to how far we’ve come in such a short time as the company moves from being an exciting prospect to delivering at scale on the promise of Open Banking.
